Sayra Fernandez

Sayra was born in El Paso, Texas, and moved to Sacramento, California, at the age of 3. Sayra is a mother of two super cool boys and a raver at heart. Since Sayra was a child, she always wanted to play the violin. In middle school, she had the opportunity to follow her interests by joining her Orchestra class. Afterward, Sayra transitioned from orchestra to Mariachi in her Junior year of High School in 2002. Since then, she’s had the opportunity to be in and help the mariachi groups in Northern California.

Sayra currently works for the Department of Corrections. She’s extremely grateful for the opportunity to play with Mariachi Bonitas. She feels proud representing female musicians and inspired by being surrounded by so many talented people! 

Sayra nació en El Paso, Texas, y a la edad de 3 años se mudó a Sacramento, California. Sayra es madre de dos niños súper geniales y en su corazón es una amante de la música rave. Desde pequeña, Sayra siempre quiso tocar el violín. En la secundaria, tuvo la oportunidad de seguir su interés uniéndose a la clase de Orquesta. Posteriormente, Sayra hizo la transición de la orquesta al mariachi en su tercer año de preparatoria en 2002. Desde entonces, ha tenido la oportunidad de estar en y ayudar a los grupos de mariachi en el norte de California.

Actualmente, Sayra trabaja para el Departamento de Correcciones. Está extremadamente agradecida por la oportunidad de tocar con Mariachi Bonitas. Siente orgullo de representar a las músicas femeninas e inspiración al estar rodeada de tantas personas talentosas.
